How to Set Up Your Slack Integration

Adding Slack is a super easy integration to set up inside DSMN8, the process works via Slacks custom Incoming Webhooks which can be added from your Slack App Directory. You will be able to push DSMN8 content directly to any slack channel of your choice within your business.

To Set this up, you will need to be an admin of your slack account to access the correct areas and be able to retrieve the details.

Set Up

Firstly, In slack head to the “manage apps” option from the Settings and Administration tab.

This will take you to the app directory, here search for the app “Incoming Webhooks”  and press add to Slack.

Choose the Channel that you want the original Webhook to be added to, this will act as the primary channel for the integration, others can then be added from inside DSMN8.

Add the incoming webhook, and on the next page, you will be able to view the Webhook URL and any additional setting required. This URL is needed to connect the webhook to DSMN8. Copy the Webhook URL.

Inside DSMN8, head to your Admin Tab, and select the integrations page. From here, select “New Integration”

Name your Integration and select “Slack”.

Paste the Webhook URL into the URL field.

Add the Main Channel name that was set as the primary channel.

Add any additional channels you may want to send content to.

Save.

Now the integration is set up, head to content curation, on the final step you will be able to select your slack integration and the channels you would like to send the content to.

Additional Note

Should you need to access the webhooks that you have created, this can be done from your Slack App directory, under Custom Integrations. Or these can also be deleted from inside DSMN8.
